Starting July 2, 2025, new ID cards with updated chips will be issued in Estonia. These cards require updated software to function properly. The Academic
Library is preparing its systems to support the use of these new cards, but the necessary updates have not yet been fully completed.

As a result, ID cards issued after July 2 cannot currently be used for:
● Borrowing books at self-service machines
● Collecting books from the 24/7 “Raamatutark” pickup locker

If your ID card was issued on July 2, 2025, or later, please proceed as follows:
● Borrowing and renewing books:
Visit the service desk, where a staff member will complete the
necessary steps manually.
● Returning books:
Return books to the self-service machine as usual.
● Library online services:
Online services such as ester.ee and user registration continue to
function as normal.

We will provide an update on our website once the self-service machines and the pickup locker support the new ID cards. If you have any questions, please email kojulaenutus@tlulib.ee or visit the library information desk.

Thank you for your understanding, and we apologize for any inconvenience.
