Keenious is an AI-based research tool that can be used to find relevant academic literature, explore new research topics, explain key concepts, and receive helpful explanations of texts, figures, and graphs presented in an academic style. It is helpful for finding materials for research as well as for gaining a better understanding of various topics covered in courses.
Compared with other search-focused AI tools, instead of just finding sources, Keenious places stronger emphasis on helping users understand and work through demanding academic texts.
Keenious can be accessed here: https://keenious.com/auth/sign-up?institution=TLU
To use Keenious, you need to create a user account (your TLU email address is needed for the registration – you will also need to click on the verification link sent to your email after the registration to enable access).
Search results can be sorted by language, date, number of citations, etc. For text-based search, Keenious uses the OpenAlex catalogue which contains nearly 500 million records of academic sources.
During the Keenious trial period, access is provided only for open access sources. After a successful trial period, sources from licensed databases of the Tallinn University Academic Library will also be added to Keenious.
We welcome feedback and questions about Keenious at erialainfo@tlulib.ee
Keenious’ trial period is from 21.04-17.05.2026.
