Exhibition “Amplified by AI: Synthetic and Uncontrolled”

At the Research Library, visitors can once again explore an engaging exhibition revealing the darker sides of artificial intelligence. Posters encourage critical thinking about identifying online fraud and highlight examples of online harassment. The exhibition is open until August 7 in the 1st floor gallery.

From chatbots to deepfakes, AI-generated content is becoming increasingly commonplace online. New AI tools make creating text, images, and videos faster, cheaper, and easier. However, online dangers like fraud, harassment, polarisation, and prejudice are now exacerbated by AI.

AI is used to create fake news, simulate reality, and influence public opinion and behaviour in ways that are almost impossible to detect. AI models, trained on creators’ biases, reinforce stereotypes, with consequences extending beyond the digital world. How can we stay informed about this rapidly evolving technology?

“Amplified by AI” is a creative initiative designed by Tactical Tech and DensityDesign Lab (Politecnico di Milano) in collaboration with IFLA, and was funded by the European Media and Information Fund (EMIF). The exhibition illustrates how AI shapes the creation, dissemination, and use of media and information. In Estonia, the initiative was implemented by the Estonian Librarians’ Association Youth Club.
